Mother’s Day 2023

Mothers day 2023

Mother’s Day was wonderful! I look back on my first Mother’s Day (when I was pregnant with Milo) and laugh a bit… You don’t know what you don’t know, right? That might be one of the truest mantras of motherhood for me.

I quickly realized that the tradition I wanted back when I was pregnant with Milo is no longer what I want now that I have two little boys in the house. As much as I love eating a homemade brunch by my fantastic husband/chef, when we tried it last year I realized it meant that I was watching the boys for a few hours while he was cooking…aka not relaxing to me. Ha.

So this year when Nate asked what I wanted, I said I’d love a few quiet hours in the house to myself so I can read a book and drink coffee in bed. Bliss!

Mothers day 2023

I slept in and woke up to a surprise pastry from Sour Duck Market (yum) and a hot cup of coffee. Nate took the boys out of the house for a few hours while I lounged and read and slowly enjoyed my coffee. And in the afternoon Nate’s parents came over and we enjoyed a wonderful meal at home…that Nate cooked! (So I did actually get to enjoy his cooking, after all.)

If you celebrated yesterday, I hope you were able to feel loved and appreciated. You’re doing a great job!

XO. Have a great Monday!
