Hi friends! I’m sitting here in my baby glider chair (we went with the Paxton Swivel Glider and love it) next to my packed hospital bags, barely able to fit this laptop on my lap because my belly is just so darn big these days… And I’m feeling SO much excitement right now! T-6 until baby boy’s due date! I’m wrapping up all of my work projects and shutting everything down for maternity leave soon. I’m in a transitional phase of life right now and definitely feeling the shift in my energy. BUT…before this baby boy shows up, I want to share our Austin maternity photos with you!

We took some fun Austin maternity photos last week in front of the Long Center, which provides one of my favorite views of downtown Austin. My friend Kiera met us early on a very hot, humid morning to snap these for us. She’s a close friend and so fun to chat with while we’re shooting.

I knew I wanted classic Austin scenery for the photos, rather than a pretty field or some sort of nature setting. Nate and I are both pretty crazy about ATX, and we’re sooo excited to raise our son in this city, so the Austin skyline was the perfect backdrop. I wore this maternity dress and told Nate to wear something casual (Austin) and blue (boy). Pretty simple and easy!

We took these photos at the beginning my 39th week of pregnancy…nothing like a rapidly approaching due date to help motivate me to knock things off my to-do list! If I’m pregnant again in the future and decide to take more photos, I’ll try to schedule them earlier. But you know what? Even if I end up taking them just before my due date again, it’s totally ok. Nothing bad happened by taking them late in pregnancy. Sure, I was a bit uncomfortable and hot, and it would have been fun to have taken photos back when my engagement ring still fit me…but ultimately, everything turned out just fine. (<- That’s going to be my mantra for the first few months after birth, because I know I won’t be perfect at momhood and Nate won’t be perfect at dadhood, but we’re both going to give it our best shot and love this little one to pieces and trust that perfection isn’t necessary.)

Ok, on to the photos! Enjoy!

Wishing you all a happy weekend! I have a fairly a full schedule over the next couple of days because I don’t want to spend the final week of pregnancy waiting around at home and feeling antsy. Depending on my energy levels, I’m planning on going on a couple Austin restaurant visits, visiting a pumpkin patch, and checking out a new brewery. Happy weekending – I’ll chat with you on Monday!
