The Tipsy Alchemist just opened up on Rainey Street in Austin, and it’s nothing short of fantastic. Jumbo-sized disco ball drinks, cocktails that enter you glass through a tube on the ceiling, liquid nitrogen that vaporizes on the counter top in front of you….these are all just perks to the high-quality craft cocktails that you can enjoy at this new Austin bar. The drinks are top-notch and the bartenders are super skilled. This might be my new favorite cocktail bar on Rainey Street.
The Tipsy Alchemist is on the second floor of 70 Rainey, the newest high-rise building to grace the busiest bar scene in Austin. The bar overlooks the street and provides an upscale bar, comfy lounge, and outdoor stage in their fun and lively environment.

If you’re bopping around on Rainey Street with a bachelorette party, this has to be one of your stops; those jumbo shareable cocktails are WAY too much fun to miss! A “Disco Mule” made with vodka, ginger reduction, lime juice, ginger beer, and mint bouquet is brought to you in a giant sparkly disco ball and serves 4-6 of your bffs, or a giant Daquiri with Bacardi, banana liqueur, lime juice, and simple syrup is made to be shared but it definitely makes one hell of a solo photo. 😉
Sooo…ready to see the bar?

I stopped by with several friends, so I was able to steal sips of lots of drinks and try several! This was by far my favorite: Violet You’re Turning Violet is sooo tasty with tea-infused gin, violet liqueur, lavender reduction, and egg white for a sweet, frothy finish.
Here we go! These jumbo-sized disco ball drinks are big enough for a crowd!
The Tipsy Alchemist started in Dallas, so this is their second location. They’re going big with this one by 3Xing the space that they have in Big D. And the drinks are exceptional, which is why I’m so excited to share it with you today on my blog. While they could have easily gone with their science shtick and their amazing location and produced low-quality drinks, these cocktails are superb. They’re really well-crafted and produced by some of the best bartenders in Austin. I’m so impressed with this new bar and I’m excited to visit it every time I’m out on Rainey Street.
