We celebrated Milo’s second birthday with beer, friends, and Easy Tiger pretzels! I can’t believe my babe is already two years old.
His first birthday was in the height of the pandemic (plus we were moving houses…) so we did a family party at home. A meatball party, actually. Haha.
So it was really fun to be able to gather with our friends and family and celebrate out in the open this time!
Also, I’ve realized something:
Children’s parties are actually for the adults.
I mean, until they reach a certain age.
Once my boys are older, they’ll have opinions about themes, locations, and types of food. I’m sure they’ll have their movie obsessions and Disney character obsessions and they’ll want everything to be on brand with whatever they’re interested in for the phase of life.
But for now? They truly don’t care.
So a birthday party is about me celebrating my precious little boy + getting to hang out with my friends!
^My sister Kylee came in town to hang out with Milo, and Dayton and I went out to pick up a few dozen pretzels from Easy Tiger.
^ And some balloons + cake at HEB. I love their cakes! They have so many pre-made flavors and sizes in the bakery department, and you can just swing by and pick one up any time, no pre-ordering necessary.
We had the party at one of our favorite craft breweries in Austin. The little ones ran around in the massive beer garden while the adults enjoy some brews. And that was it! Simple. Milo’s favorite part was probably the cake (and the piles of presents…I understand now why parents say “no gifts, please!” on the invites.)
Two of my sisters + my brother came in town to help us celebrate Milo Man’s second birthday!
And then later that weekend we went to ANOTHER favorite brewery (Vista) for their Outside City Limits music festival!
Milo and his Uncle Will…ha! I love how they’re just looking at each other.
Very few pictures of either event because juggling two babies is hard work! But we had so much fun.
I truly can’t believe this snuggly little boy is mine. I love him so. Happy second birthday, my baby.
[…] so today I’m going to show you my living room gallery wall. I put it up the night before Milo’s second birthday with I was feeling all soppy about my babies growing up too […]
