Fa La La La Friday!

South Pole Igloos at Geraldines

Woohoo! It’s Friday! I’m so excited for all the fun Christmas-y things I have coming up this weekend. Tonight Nate and I get to have a date at one of our favorite restaurants (we’re finally getting a bit more consistent about booking sitters and going out on date nights…it’s not easy at this stage of life) and then I’ll be playing Nutcracker performances all weekend. If you’re going to the Long Center to watch Ballet Austin, I’ll be down there in the orchestra pit with my violin.

I have a few random odds and ends to tell you today, starting with…

Erin Condren Review

Did you see that Erin Condren is doing 10 days of deals?! Day 1 was 30% off everything (which is amaaaazing – that’s the same discount as she did during Black Friday which is huge!), and days 2-4 were really fun too, and now we’re all the way to daily deal 5:

Daily Deal #5: 25% Off All Vegan Leather Coiled Books (Notebooks & Planners)

I’m a firm believer in the vibrational energy of the objects we have around us. No, a planner won’t actually make me more productive. But if it’s something that makes me feel excited to open it, map out my week, schedule in the things I’m dreading and then actually do them, and sit down at my desk with a big cup of coffee to start using stickers and fun pens to cross things off the list…then that planner is actually helping me.

I’ve bought some cheap planners at Target, and the energy just isn’t the same. There’s something about buying a planner in December for the next year ahead, feeling REALLY excited about it, and dreaming and planning for the year ahead. My goals keep getting bigger, and I like that this book is going to hold all of them. (Btw: I got this one for 2023!)

Erin Condren Review

^ I used a Softbound LifePlanner for 2022, and I liked that it was sleek, but I think I prefer coiled books that lie flat on my desk.

Erin Condren is doing 10 days of special deals, so keep going back to check each day to see what the special deal of the day is. I’m hoping for some discounted notebooks and stickers and pens to freshen up my desk for the New Year.

Next up…have you been to a holiday bar in Austin yet?

South Pole Igloos at Geraldines

There are so many fun ones this year! Nate and I rented out an igloo at the South Pole at Geraldine’s for dinner + drinks on their rooftop deck.

Charcuterie and the cutest holiday cocktails to kick it off! Mine had a Ghirardelli chocolate pepermint square on top. Is that’s not the holly-jolliest thing you’ve ever seen?

Plus a record player in our own cozy little igloo.

I love that Austin does cute things like this. Since it typically doesn’t snow here in Texas during Christmas, I rely on artificial igloos and pop-up ice skating rinks to bring the magic of Christmas. 😉

Another one I’m hoping to visit this year is Nickel City! They deck out for the holidays like crazy.

Did you see my Christmas home tour yesterday?

It’s so funny how I’ve all of a sudden taken so much pride and excitement in decorating my home for different holidays. It just seems that there wasn’t enough stability for a while (in my twenties I was in a different apartment every 12 months, and then Nate and I moved twice in our first 3 years of marriage, and then I was in newborn land which didn’t ignite my decorating drive AT ALL), but now that things are feeling a bit calm, I’m really enjoying making my house look beautiful for the holidays.

It really is a very simple little blog post, but I’m so thankful for the home and the people in it, and I’m really enjoying being home for the holidays this year.

(Suuuuuper happy we’re not traveling anywhere for Christmas Day!)

Ok, I’m off to soak up all the Christmas spirit! I hope you have a wonderful weekend. I’ll talk to you here on Monday! Xo.
