Tumble 22 has been around for a couple years, so I’m not blogging about something new today. (Read my blog post about their original food truck here.) But if you haven’t been yet, consider this your PSA to get your butt up to north Austin and check out their new brick-and-mortar and eat the best hot chicken in Austin, Texas.
They’ve dropped the “Nashville” and now call it “Austin fried chicken,” although I believe chef Harold Marmulstein’s secret recipe has stayed the same. It’s still absolutely mouth-wateringly delicious.
The brick-and-mortar launched a new happy hour menu with ridiculously good deals. I’m telling you – if fried chicken is your thing and you like it hot hot hot, T22 has the best dang prices for a happy hour on M-F from 3-6 pm!
The outdoor patio has all the Austin hangout vibes, too. Lots of giant picnic tables for groups, and huge fans to keep things cool. Kiera and I hung out for a lunch date, and we were actually cold from the fans, which is saying something in this Texas summer.
T22 now offers five (previously four) levels of heat:
wimpy
hot
mo’ hot!
dang hot!
fire in the hole!!
The coconut cream pie is a DREAM. So dense, creamy, and rich. It’s a southern girl’s dream dessert. (Really truly – coconut cream pie goes on my list of Top 5 Desserts Worth The Splurge Of All Time.) Tumble 22 makes the crust and filling from scratch every day and serves big, hefty pieces of pie. Not to be missed!

I’m not sure I’ve ever had hot chicken? But clearly it needs to go on my list of things to eat!
