Hello hello! We had a wonderful little “spring break” last week. (Using that term loosely, haha…I have two toddlers so it was literally just a typical week over here, but I tried to get into the mindset of “spring break.”)
Milo and I had a beach day at Emma Long, and it was sooo sweet.
He’s the cutest age for these little one-on-one outings. Sometimes I can’t even believe how much fun motherhood is becoming. 🙂
We met up with my friend Emily and her two sons. We started with lunch at Ski Shores Café, which switched management to MML Hospitality in 2022. It was pretty rustic previously, and now it’s a lot more polished.
Milo loved the sand pit and asked me if we were at the beach. Haha. It’s what you get when you raise your child in a landlocked city.
And then we drove 5 minutes over to Emma Long Metropolitan Park, which has a fun little beach/swimming area on the Colorado River. There’s a sandy entry, a really shallow area with a buoy rope divider (so Milo and his friend knew to stop at the rope!) and then a deeper area on the other side of the rope.
Emily and I have met up for many, many play dates over the last couple of years…but this was the first one where we were actually able to chat while the boys played. WE HAVE ARRIVED!!! Haha!
Of course, it helped that baby Dayton wasn’t with me on this day and toddling around this time (I for SURE would have been glued to him in the water if he was there) and there were only 3 boys instead of 4. But the 3 boys played in the shallow water nearby for about 2 hours while Emily and I sat on the sand, occasionally drying the boys off and giving them snacks or water.
It was a lovely day! Highly recommend if you have a free afternoon in Austin and need some fun in the sun.
XO. Talk to you tomorrow!
So much fun!! The boys loved playing with sweet Milo. ❤️
Yes!!! Best day!!
