I was working out constantly, researching, and really attempting every possible eating plan… and still wondering why the weight wouldn’t budge.

How I finally shed 25 pounds

for good.

As a college swimmer, I couldn’t figure out why I was gradually gaining weight — and I eventually found myself 25–30 pounds heavier than my ideal weight.

I was working out 15 hours a week, swimming in college and later running marathons in my 20s.

Smart, driven, type-A, motivated… yet no matter how hard I tried, the extra weight stayed. I told myself, “it’s just going to take some discipline” and experimented with everything — gluten-free, vegetarian, even fully raw vegan — but I still felt puffy and uncomfortable in my own skin.

Deep down, I knew: this isn’t the body I feel best in.

My “aha” moment came in a surprising way.

I was gifted a 10-pack of yoga classes from my boyfriend. (As a broke grad student, I couldn’t say no to free workouts!)

At first, it felt too slow and easy.
