5 Blogs I Read Every Week

5 Blogs I Read Every Week

Most blog writers were first blog readers. I love hearing about the blogs that others are obsessed with, so today I’m sharing a few of my favorites with you.

It was hard to narrow this list down to 5! I love reading blogs, and every morning one of the first things I do is wake up my iPhone and read a few new posts.

Now, there are a lot of less-than-stellar blogs. There are also plenty of fabulous blogs by fabulous people wearing fabulous clothes and talking about their fabulous lives, and I read those and just feel like crap. (I try to stay away from most fashion blogs, because I just feel envy…and that’s not a good way to start my day.) I’m sure there’s a healthy way to read fabulous fashion blogs and feel inspired, but I haven’t been able to get there, so I mostly avoid them.

All of the blogs I’m listing below are ones that make me feel inspired, empowered, and motivated. What are your favorite blogs? I’d love to know so I can check them out, too!

1. Kath Eats Real Food

This is literally the first blog I ever read, and I’ve been a longtime follower since 2010! Kath Younger is an R.D. in Charlottsville, Virginia. She blogged 3X/day for 5 years, documenting everything she ate. (Talk about dedication!)

Now she blogs less frequently, but still almost daily about healthy food, her life, and son, and her city. She’s not that flashy, but she’s consistent, practical, and kind, and I love her beautiful photography of everyday life.

2. Camille Styles

A Healthy Life. Well Styled. is this Austin blogger’s tagline. She’s based in Austin, but her company is about much more than just this city. She has a whole team of writers, so posts are frequent – usually a couple a day. This blog is all about style, decorating, entertaining, and living well. Some of my favorite posts are Camille’s Weekend Notes, in which she shares her favorite links from around the web and books she’s been reading. I also love the Getting Dressed With series, because I’m nosy about other people’s morning routines, especially when those people are successful female entrepreneurs.

3. Cup of Jo

Joanna Goddard is a well-known and well-seasoned blogger, and I’ve been following her on-and-off for years. She writes about style, motherhood, food, relationships, design…a little bit of everything. Just like Camille Styles, she publishes a weekend post that I look forward to each Saturday. What better way to start your weekend than cozy up with a cup of coffee and read a blog post full of interesting and inspiring articles?

4. ProBlogger

Darren Rowse is an Australian man who blogs about blogging… He’s been blogging for 15 years, so his experience combined with the advice from his excellent team makes for a blog that’s beneficial to anyone in the blogging world. (I also love his podcast when I’m lacking blogging inspiration.)

He shares a wide variety of blogging advice. From starting a blog and finding readers to getting sponsored posts and making money, his writing is practical and easy to follow.

5. Modern Mrs. Darcy

I recently got on a reading kick, and for the past 18 months (or so) I’ve been trying to read 1-2 books a week. There’s really no pastime that I enjoy more! Every month I publish a post with called “READS” with all the books I read that month, and many of them come from Anne’s book blog.

She has a great summer reading list she puts out each year. It’s categorized…not really by genre, but more by “style” of reading (things like “intense novels” and “families are complicated” and “beachy reads”) so it’s easy to find something you’ll like.

Your turn!! Any favorite blogs you follow? I’m always looking for new ones!

I follow all these except for Kath Eats Food and ProBlogger. Gotta go check those out! I believe I found Camille Styles on your blog a few months ago, and I’ve loved reading it every day, so thank you! If you like Camille Styles, I think you will really like The Everygirl, if you don’t already follow them. It’s a similar concept to Camille Styles with a team of writers, and they post fabulous, inspiring posts.

I hear you about the envy! That’s why I don’t read Camille Styles – ha! But it is a well-done blog. I’ve been itching to get back into blogging recently – because I miss the AFBA so much. Anywhooooo – blogs I still read….How Sweet It Is (http://www.howsweeteats.com/). Jessica is my absolute favorite because her writing style is very similar to how she’d have a conversation with you and I really relate to her. And I also still read Joy the Baker and Shutterbean.

Kath Eats Real Food was one of the first blogs I ever started reading as well! That and Carrots ‘n’ Cake were both some of my firsts. My current favorite blogs to follow are: Man Repeller, ImmaEatThat, Running off the Reese’s

Quite an interesting selection of blogs you have here, Kelsey! I only heard about two of these blogs so I’m excited to dive into the rest!

Would you be so kind as to take a look at my happiness blog, Utterly Positive (https://utterlypositive.com/)? It’s all about daily motivation, finding joy in the little things, and building a healthy mindset with positive affirmations and other techniques. I think you might enjoy it too! Let me know what you think 🙂
