Friday Night Music Night #3

Friday Night Music Night is a little bit different while I’m here at NOI because I’m playing music more than just listening. So it’s lots of fun, but different. FNMN will be back to normal once I’m settled in to my apartment in the fall.

Can’t. Even. Wait.

Friday night was the Chamber Music Marathon concert. Here’s how it goes down: the NOI orchestra, which is approximately 100 people, is divided into small chamber music groups of 3-8 people. Everyone gets to perform, which makes for quite a loooong concert. 3 hours, to be precise.

My group performed our Mendelssohn Quartet in A minor, Op. 13. Here we are in the green room right before our kick ass performance!

L-R: Ethan (Indiana), Kim (Indiana), Marianna (U of Maryland), and me (Wheaton!)
It was soo fun!! 15 other groups performed on this stage:
When it was over some people went out to celebrate, but I knew if I was going to wake up alert for our a.m. dress rehearsal today, I had to get to bed.
Lame….Responsible. eh.
I’ve got time for celebrations after tonight’s performance!
One more thing.
Have you seen these adorable sisters? They’re 12 and 8-year-old singers whose voices sound way more mature than their years! So cute!
Talk to you tomorrow. Wish me luck for tonight’s performance!!
