Hey friends! Happy Friday!

Every other Friday I share a round up of 5 restaurants I’ve tried lately (and loved) in hopes to inspire you to find some more fun eats in ATX!

Some of these are new, some are tried-and-true, but they all deserve a shot. Let me know if you try any of them by tagging me on instagram (@somuchlifeblog) in your foodie photos!

1. For a pizza lunch date: 40 North

Oooh, how I love these little Neapolitan pies! 40 North is on North Lamar, just between the border of downtown Austin and Clarksville. It’s inside a cozy little house, and I met up here with Nate on one of our recent cold, rainy days. That hot little pizza hit the spot!

2. For a new restaurant adventure: Uncle Nicky’s

Have you heard of this one yet? The team behind Juniper, Via 313, and Nickel City opened a new “easy Italian” cafe in Hyde Park called Uncle Nicky’s, and I’m all about it!

Here’s why I like it: this small cafe feels European. It’s small, made for small bites and cocktails, and there’s room for perching so you can enjoy a snack and a quick cocktail. I can imagine I’m back in Milan when I’m eating here.

3. For Round Rock residents: Pinthouse Pizza

Pinthouse Pizza is now in Round Rock! I drove all the way up there last weekend to check it out on a Saturday night, and the place was PACKED. We had to wait 45 minutes for our pizza, but the grand opening is tomorrow (Feb 23) and I’m sure they’ll have the kinks worked out by then.

The grand opening party happens all day with 20 Pinthouse beers on tap, free swag, and their second can release from 9 am – 2 pm.

4. For Monday Happy Hour: Yuyo

This sweet little Peruvian restaurant has happy hour every weeknight, but on Mondays it extends all night! Enjoy a $7 Pisco Punch, $5 Rosé Sangría, $6 Yuquitas, $7 Bao Buns, $9 Empanadas, and much more.

5. For some (surprisingly) good ice cream: Fresa’s

weekend in Austin

Have y’all tried the ice cream at Fresa’s? I’ve mentioned on my instagram stories a few times, but it always surprises me SO much! I’m telling you – it’s some of the best ice cream you can find in Austin, and it’s made at a GRILLED CHICKEN restaurant! HA! So weird!
