10 Best Restaurants in Austin for Food Delivery - SoMuchLife.com

Now that I’m well into my third trimester of pregnancy, food delivery services in Austin have been a life saver! I’ve had so many interesting cravings (the weirdest one is salads, because that’s not something I ever crave in normal life! Pregnancy has made me healthier, I guess?) and DoorDash has come to the rescue again and again.

DoorDash gave me a promo code to share with you – get 25% off your first DoorDash order with code KELSEY25.

There have been many days lately where I’ve been working late into the evening before realizing that I hadn’t planned for dinner (ugh..pregnancy brain is a real thing! I’ve felt so scattered lately) and I:

  1. Hop onto my DoorDash app
  2. Find the food I’m craving and order it
  3. Have my food arrive at my door 30 minutes later

Oh! And another nice feature is that you can schedule deliveries for later in the week. I teach violin lessons late into the evening on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays. Last Sunday night I scheduled a delivery from Modern Market to arrive 8:00 pm on Monday night, right when I was finished teaching my last student of the day. Nate worked late that day, too, (we’re both cramming in a lot of work before this baby arrives…) but when we both finished working, our healthy dinner was delivered and ready for us to eat together at the table. Ahh….I love you, modern technology!

1. Phoebe’s Diner (for breakfast)

Yep, you can have breakfast and brunch delivered to your door! Great option, I’ve found, for days when you want to hunker down and hustle in a co-working space and have your breakfast brought to you! I love Phoebe’s classic diner food for weekday breakfasts.

What to order at Phoebe’s: Migas (gluten free!), Coffee Smoked Brisket Burrito (one of my all-times faves at Phoebe’s), or Buttermilk Flapjacks (a classic.)

2. Cisco’s (for breakfast tacos)

10 best restaurants in Austin for food delivery

I love this old-school Tex-Mex diner in East Austin because their breakfast tacos are SO darn good! Don’t forget about their tasty breakfast plates, too… The Huevos Rancheros plate at Cisco’s has one of my favorite Ranchero sauces in the city. GAH it’s so good! This plate fills me up for a long time, so it’s nice to have when I’m having an intense work day and I want a big, hearty, filling breakfast .

What to order at Cisco’s: Biscuits (Cisco’s has been famous for these since the mid-1900s) with a side of rosemary gravy, breakfast tacos, or a Huevos Rancheros plate.

3. Flower Child (for a healthy, energizing lunch)

10 Best Restaurants in Austin for Food Delivery - SoMuchLife.com

I’ve been crushing HARD on Flower Child lately because this food makes me feel so energized! I especially love this healthy food for lunch because I don’t get that lethargic feeling after lunch, and I’m ready to power through the 2-4 pm time of day when I typically start to feel sleepy. They have tons of healthy, gluten-free, and vegetarian options, and everything is so fresh and tasty!

What to order at Flower Child: Organic Kale Salad + Protein (I looove this salad), Mother Earth Bowl, and honestly my favorite thing to order is the Build A Plate (protein + two sides, and I mix it up every time).

4. Lucky Robot (for a cozy, hearty lunch)

On those cozy, rainy days when you don’t want to leave home, browse Lucky Robot’s hearty Asian lunch and dinner menus. I’ve actually loved Lucky Robot during pregnancy because, even though I’m avoiding raw food right now, they have lots of vegan and cooked bites that have been satisfying my sushi cravings.

What to order at Lucky Robot: Spinach and Tofu Dumplings with Cashew Cheese (I’m not vegan but I order these every time!), Ramen with Koji pork and woodear mushrooms, Robo Tuna maki roll.

5. Torchy’s (for tacos + queso)

10 Best Restaurants in Austin for Food Delivery - SoMuchLife.com

When I have girlfriends over and we just want to binge-watch Gilmore Girls and hang out on the couch, I’ll order two servings or queso (don’t judge…no one wants to run out of queso) and a few tacos from Torchy’s for some weekend snacking.

What to order at Torchy’s: Baja Shrimp taco, Green Chile Queso, Airstream Salad, Lil’ Nookies (fried cookie dough dusted with powdered sugar…OMG dreamy) for dessert.

6. Malibu Poke (for vegan, Whole30, Paleo, Keto options)

10 Best Restaurants in Austin for Food Delivery - SoMuchLife.com

Malibu Poke is the DREAM restaurant for anyone who follows a particular diet or lifestyle and needs food that caters toward them. Not only is this the freshest, tastiest poke restaurant I’ve tried in Austin, it’s also the most diverse in regards to menu offerings. There are a total of 63,000 different combinations of basses (sushi rice, cauliflower rice, massaged kale, and more), proteins (ahi tuna, cooked shrimp, tofu, and more) sauces, crunchy toppings, and drizzles. Go crazy!

What to order at Malibu Poke: My two go-to bowls are the Spicy Chili Tuna bowl and Wasabi Ponzu Salmon, but like I said: there are 63,000 options, so get creative.

7. Chi’Lantro (when you need fries for dinner)

10 Best Restaurants in Austin for Food Delivery - SoMuchLife.com

Chi’Lantro is the only restaurant in Austin where I allow myself to count fries as a complete meal, because their famous Kimchi Fries come loaded with protein, like soy-glazed chicken or ribeye beef. The tacos, rice and noodle bows, and beautiful rainbow salads are all other favorite orders of mine, too.

What to order at Chi’lantro: Kimchi Fries, Chi’jeu Chips and Queso, Noodle Bowl with Spicy Chicken.

8. Vamonos (Excellent Tex-Mex Dinner for the Fam)

10 Best Restaurants in Austin for Food Delivery - SoMuchLife.com

Vamonos is a Ranch-style Tex-Mex restaurant that instantly wowed me with their tasty hormone-free meat, fresh tortillas, and tasty chicken enchiladas. I like having an food delivery option that can feed a couple people, and Vamonos is great for that: I can order a plate of beef tacos and another plate of chicken enchiladas, and Nate and I share both of them for a quick dinner.

What to order at Vamonos: The Enchiladas are excellent, as are the tacos with skirt steak. I love the chicken tortillas soup when I want something lighter.

9. Thai Fresh (for noodles and curry)

10 Best Restaurants in Austin for Food Delivery - SoMuchLife.com

I have LOVED Thai Fresh during pregnancy for quick food delivery! The meals are pretty large, so I’ll often split it in half and make two meals out of one entree: dinner tonight, and lunch tomorrow.

What to order at Thai Fresh: The Pad Thai is a crowd favorite here (honestly the best Pad Thai I’ve tried in Austin – I always add tofu to mine), Chu Chee Curry, or Drunken Noodles.

10. Hopddody Burger Bar (for late-night burger cravings)

10 Best Restaurants in Austin for Food Delivery - SoMuchLife.com

Hi Hopdoddy: I love you. Hopdoddy has been a long-time favorite of mine for late-night food delivery! Whenever I play a concert with the Austin Symphony, I get home at about 10:30 pm and I’m always, always hungry. I can schedule a food delivery from Hopdoddy (Magic Shroom Burger + Truffle Fries) so that it arrives right when I get home. Ultimate guilty pleasure, and I don’t feel bad about it at all.

What to order at Hopddody: Any of the crafted burgers, the Impossible Burger if you want a vegan option, and Parmesan Truffle Fries FOR SURE.

Seriously, I’m not sure how our parents survived pregnancy without DoorDash…haha. I’m SUCH a fan of being able to satisfy any food craving through the quick swipe and click on my DoorDash app.

If you haven’t tried DoorDash yet, first of all, GET ON THE BANDWAGON because it’s amazing, and secondly, use my code KELSEY25 to get 25% off your first order on DoorDash.
