Summer Adventurer

What a great weekend!!

I had so much fun with Sister #1. We made the most of our short time together and got to eat a lot of good food and have some good conversations.

Sunday morning began with an early run (her) and violin practice (me), then brunch at one of my favorite cafés in Glen Ellyn: Honey!

Coffee and earl grey tea to start off the morning right, then we split had a sausage pear and brie omelet and a caprese eggs benedict. We sat for a long time and had many drink refills while we enjoyed our last time to see each other until August!

The afternoon was spent PACKING and PACKING and PACKING. Goodbye senior year house!

Afternoon flight from Midway to Dulles! Because of the huuuuge brunch, I just snacked on a Larabar and an apple while I read my first book of the summer: The Sacrament of Evangelism by Jerry Root, who is a teacher from my school (now alma mater! weird!), Wheaton College.

And I finally made it to DC! My friend from school, Lauren, and her older sister, Erin, picked me up and we went straight to an italian restaurant for dinner to meet up with the rest of her family. They’re visiting from Decatur, IL.

Pesto Salmon salad

And a trio of desserts! I ate the tiramisu, Lauren at the limoncello, and we both nibbled on the chocolate cup:)

After a long day, I was very ready to crash at the beautiful Omni Shoreham hotel….

….after we acted like 10-yr-old girls at a slumber party and took pictures in bath robes while jumping on the bed…

Peace out for now!
