Where To Eat In Austin This Weekend (1/17/20)

Junes All Day

Hi hi! Happy long weekend! I’m flying out of town this weekend for a birthday trip for Caitlin’s 30th (follow along on instagram!), but I’m stopping in here real fast to share a couple ideas for some good weekend eats in Austin. PS: are you new to Austin and looking for the best places to eat? You can check out my Austin Index any day of the week for hundreds and hundreds of ideas on the best eats and drinks in ATX!

Where To Eat In Austin This Weekend

1. Non-alcoholic cocktails and beer at Easy Tiger |WEBSITE|

Mocktails at Easy Tiger

Who’s doing Dry January? It can be so rejunivating for your health (and wallet!), but then it’s kind of a bummer when all your friends are going out and you have to drink water or soda.. Easy Tiger came up with two fun mocktails that you can sip on while you stay true to your New Years resolutions:

  • Strawberry Resolution: Housemade Strawberry Syrup, Lime, Rambler Sparkling Water
  • Ginger Pear Fizz: Housemade Pear Syrup, Lemon, Maine Root Ginger Beer
  • Brooklyn Brewery Special Effects Non-Alcoholic Hoppy Brew

2. New food truck: The Happy Grilled Cheese |See my review HERE|

The Happy Grilled Cheese food truck in Austin

This new food truck would be a great place to bring young kids; they serve grilled cheese, which everyone loves, and it’s parked at the 5000 Burnet food truck park, which has a playscape!

3. Burgers + bowling at Highland Lanes/Lebowski’s Grill |WEBSITE

Lebowski's Grill AUSTIN TEXAS

Lebowski’s Grill is a sweet little grill that’s located inside of Highland Lanes bowling alley in north Austin, and in Westgate Lanes bowling alley in south Austin. These burgers are absolutely scrumptious…I got the frito pie burger last week, and it legitimately tastes like a Frito pie in between two burger buns. So yummy. Bring a group of friends for some bowling, burgers, and tots! (Skip the fries…I don’t think they’re made fresh, and the tots are much better.)

4. For weekend happy hour: Yuyo |WEBSITE|

Yuyo happy hour Austin

Yuyo Peruvian restaurant has happy hour on Friday, Saturday, AND Sunday from 4:30-6:30. Enjoy $8 cocktails, $2 mocktails, $3 beers, and all sorts of discounted tasty snacks like bao buns, empanadas, pork cracklings, plantain chips, pork ribs, and crispy calamari.

5. For a casual date night: June’s All Day |WEBSITE|

Junes All Day

This adorable neighborhood cafe and wine bar on South Congress is one of my favorite casual date spots. Every Sunday, they do a “pub night” with $5 pints of Old Speckled Hen and Indian food special like naan and Chicken Makhani. Or, just show up with a friend, sit at the bar, and enjoy a glass of rosé. June’s has all the charm.

Ok, wishing you a happy weekend! Enjoy the long weekend with lots of good eats, and I’ll be back here on Monday to chat with you!
