Good morning, friends! Happy Friday! I’m pumped for this weekend because I’m heading up to Dallas to see my sister, Kylee. She’s moving (still staying in Dallas), so I’m going to help her unpack some boxes and then just hang out a bit. I LOVE having sisters as best friends! I just wish some of them lived in Austin with me!

Every other Friday, I share 5 restaurants that I’ve tried recently….and I think you should, too! It’s a mix of the latest and greatest in the ATX dining scene, and a few old-school Austin Classics that you might not have checked out yet.

5 Restaurants You Need To Try in ATX

1. For a weekend breakfast: LeRoy and Lewis + Bird Bird Biscuit Collaboration

Brisket Biscuit Sandwich at LeRoy and Lewis BBQ in Austin Texas

Friends…I’m so excited about this one! LeRoy and Lewis BBQ and Bird Bird Biscuit collaborated to bring a BBQ biscuit sandwich, available only only Saturdays and Sundays in February.

You can stop by either location (LeRoy and Lewis in south Austin, or Bird Bird Biscuit in east Austin) to try this beauty. Order it with any type of bbq meat at the LeRoy and Lewis location, or head to Bird Bird Biscuit if you just want to try the brisket biscuit.

2. For weekend brunch: Intero Italian Restaurant

Head to Intero for a delicious Italian brunch in Austin Texas!

I adore this little family-owned Italian restaurant in East Austin, and I’m so excited that they’ve just celebrated their 1 year anniversary (quite the accomplishment!) AND launched a Saturday/Sunday brunch!

I went last week to try it out, and I wrote this blog post about it.

3. For date night: Wu Chow

Wu Chow in Austin Texas

Nate and I went to a concert at the Moody Theater (we saw Rebolution – such a fun show!) and stopped by Wu Chow for a Cantonese dinner beforehand. We had Mapo Tofu, Shanghai Soup Dumplings, and a fermented black bean chicken.

Pros: farm-to-table restaurant, gorgeous interior (would be such a fun place for a girls night out!), friendly service.

Cons: wanted it to be a bit spicier, and everything is quite pricey!

4. Food Truck + Brewery: Chopped and Skewed at Skull Mechanix

Texas Chicken and Waffles in Austin Texas

Spam sandwich in Austin Texas.. YUM!

I stopped by Chopped and Skewed with my friend Caitlin on a Friday night for some bites + brews. The food is DELICIOUS. I tried 3 items from the menu (Spammy Sammy, Fried Rice with Steak Bulgogi, and Skewed Up Chick + Waffles) and I gobbled down every morsel.

It’s permanently parked outside Skull Mechanix brewery, so you can enjoy this tasty food with a few pints of craft beer. I’ll cheers to that!

5. For a work lunch: Caroline Restaurant

Healthy lunch in downtown Austin at Caroline Restaurant

Caroline is the restaurant in the Aloft Hotel downtown, and they’re doing a special through march: show proof of gym or health club membership, get 15% off your visit. The Ahi Tuna Poke Tacos and Caroline Salad are scrumptious and healthy!
